Where China Jade is Found :
Jadeite can be found in Japan, Myanmar (formerly Burma), Guatemala, and
in California and Alaska within the United States.

Color of China Jade :
There are two types of Jade: Jadeite and Nephrite. Jadeite is rarer, with
the highest quality known as imperial Jade. Jadeite comes in a variety of
colors including red, orange, yellow, green, blue, lilac, pink, black, white,
and brown. Unlike Nephrite jade, jadeite jade (or China Jade) will not fade
over time.

Birthstone :
Jade is considered the mystical birthstone for March, and the astrological
birthstone for Aries, Taurus and Virgo.

Anniversary :
Jade is the anniversary gemstone for the 12th, 30th and 35th year of marriage.

History of China Jade :
It is someone ironic that jadeite jade is sometimes referred to as China jade
since most of the jade found in China is actually Nephrite jade. According to
legend, the Spanish conquistadors of Central America wore amulets of
Jadeite to prevent and cure kidney and hip ailments. In Central America,
the Mayans, Olmecs, and Toltecs used jade for carvings and masks. A tax
placed on jade by the Aztecs resulted in the recycling of earlier artworks.
In ancient Egypt and China it was widely used as a talisman to attract good
fortune, friendship and loyalty. The sacred image ensile, at Wat Phra Kaeo
in Bangkok, Thailand, known as the "Emerald Buddha" is actually green jadeite.
Jade has been treasured in China as the royal gemstone, YU for 5,000 years.
In China, jade was believed to preserve the body after death and is often
found in the tombs of emperors from thousands of years ago. To ensure
physical immortality, one tomb contained an entire suit fashioned of jade.
Jade is the state gemstone of both Wyoming and Alaska as well as the
Canadian state gemstone of British Columbia. Artifacts which are hundreds
of years old made from Alaska's Kabuki River nephrite have been found at
archaeological sites along the Bering and Pacific coasts of Alaska and British
Columbia and the Arctic coast of Canada.

Jade is considered by some to be good for emotional stability and balance.
Jade has been thought of as the concentrated essence of love and is therefore
considered by some to be beneficial to loving relationships. Some believe
that jade can helps to control the content of our dreams or their focus.
Jade is thought by some to be a very protective stone, particularly good for
protecting children against illness or for protection on long journeys.
Jade is also used by some people to bring good luck, wisdom , long life,
and even a peaceful death.

Physically
, some believe that jade can help a range of ailments including
problems with the kidney, heart, larynx, liver, parathyroid, spleen, thymus,
thyroid, bladder, and even eyes. Yellow jade is thought by some to aid
poor digestion.
